It’s true…pt 1
A little back story.
We found “Blindspot” completely by what could only be described as a happy accident.
The idea of having a quaint little “pied-a-terre” tucked away somewhere in Italy was a tantalizing fantasy, especially considering that we had never ventured to Italy before. But a dream is a dream, right?
However, after engaging in a bit of online 1 euro house hunting, I quickly realized that three crumbling walls and no roof were probably not going to work for transforming that “pied-a-terre” fantasy into a feasible reality.
Nonetheless, those late-night online searches yielded some intriguing information that I kept stored away in the deep recesses of my mind—something I had never heard of before, which was “Etna” wine from Sicily, Italy.
Hyped widely as the best wine in Sicily, this claim didn’t particularly impress me at the time, as my limited wine experience led me to believe that Sicily, in general, did not produce ‘great’ wines regardless of the hype. So unimpressed was I that I never bothered to investigate any of these so-called “best” wines from Mt. Etna (yes, the vineyards are indeed located on and around a real, active volcano, and that intriguing fact did catch my attention-completely a guy thing!). I never made the effort to look for any of these “Etna” wines in local wine shops or even online from various wine retailers.
The dream of that charming “pied-a-terre” remained alive, but reality was leaning more toward just enjoying an Italian holiday instead. Still not bad, right? So, the planning of an Italian holiday and creating an itinerary became my responsibility (some people probably still believe that was a mistake!)
stay tuned…
